Another studio update

Greetings! Drew has issued us with his final mix of the new record. It sounds pretty bomb. I'd imagine we might tweak with a few things here and there, but he definetly has a great idea with the direction we want to go with this. We will be finishing the artwork soon, and the cds should be in everyones hands this august. We are workin on getting together some hot shows for the summer. The songs up on myspace aren't the final version, and the only reason we keep constantly updating them is so we can keep you guys in the loop. Rest assure the final versions are on their way to you speakers/headphones shortly. We have just finished all the vocals (my voice is completely shot by the way), and we are moving on to mixing now. All the songs sound fabulous and we should have a finished product by the end of the night. Time to get stoked!

Going on too many sleepless nights

Its saturday night, almost 10pm. I'm pretty exhausted, its been a fucking long day. Tomorrow is the acoustic instore at liberte. I'm pretty stoked on it, that's for sure. I've spent the past day or so listening closely to the ep, listening for things to fix/improve on, what I liked, disliked, etc. I must say that out of all 5 songs, california's callin has gotta be my absolute favorite. Probably cuz its the most personal to me. I think its just a good song in general and I hope people agree, and can possibly relate to it. We've all had that someone who's come along and captivated you without so much as an explanation. This person who I reference in the song definetely has even if we don't talk anymore. So yea, its 4th of july weekend and that's pretty rad. I'm off til wednesday which is super awesome. I need the rest, that is for sure. We head back to the studio on monday with d-rec to finish up the ep. I'm even super excited with the rough mix. With that being the case who knows what the final product will sound like. Well that's all the rambling I'm doin for the night. Have a safe holiday, peace out!

Final Studio Update for Today

Well we have all but one song done for vocals. We return monday to finish that and do mixing/mastering. We all took the time listen to everything we've done and we are all super pleased with the ROUGH version. Drew is the man when it comes to recording. He gave great input and ideas. We hope to have maybe a few 30 second teasers up on our site, just so you all can get an idea of what we got out of today. Well that's all the updates for tonight. Just after 1pm, chris is currently tracking his bass lines on "california's callin". LJ has finished all his drum tracks. We will have 5 songs for you guys, and they are: inconsistant and intricate, go go drive drive, midnight lush, californias callin, and tonight we'll break it down. So far everything is sounding great. Keep checking back!

Well its just after 11:30am, and drum tracking is underway and has been for at least an hour. Hopefully by the end of the day, we should be done with most of the instruments. Things are going great, stay tuned as I'll have a more indepth update in about an hour!

Only hours away from the beginning of the recording. Its shaping up to be a beautiful day out and none of us will probably see any of it as we'll be locked in doors all day long. I'm actually checking out the new rise against record right now, not bad at all. This is the first time I've checked out these guys. I'm pretty impressed. Today is gonna be awesome, I'll post later.

Btw: try not to get annoyed by the whole "blackberry service provided by nextel" on the bottom. I'll be updating with it mostly cuz its the easiest and fastest, and they tag that msg on the end of every email I send lol, its so annoying. Anyways check back in a little while.

Recording tommorow

So star-lit eyes hits the space studio in springfield tommorow. I'm so excited. Last time I was in a studio was in december with crisis point. Its been 8 months and a new band, new stories to tell and new songs to share. I couldn't be more excited for what's ahead. We've also got a pretty sweet acoustic in-store set at liberte which I'm also super stoked on sunday. So this weekend is shaping up pretty well, except for saturday. No plans yet. Who wants to hang? Holla back.
